I`ve downloaded 7.1, but as yet haven`t downloaded the 7 (starter) library. Can I do this safely? I know I`ve done this a**e over t*t way round, but surely I don`t have to uninstall 7.1, then reinstall 7 in order to download the library. ........ takes all kinds! - so logical!!!!

AND - when I`ve done this, can I then download 7.5 - I believe it is a free download, as I`ve only just registered 7?

If you're entitled to install 7.5, there's no need to install 7 or 7.1 first.

Laurence,
I`m worrying more about downloading the sound library "out of sequence" first of all `cos 7 sounds are not as advanced as 7.1 sounds(I believe?). In other words will the 7 sounds (which at present are still on the DVDs, not the computer) go into Sib. ver 7.1?

I`ll get stated on 7.5 when I know all is safe with the afore mentioned gobbledegook . . . .

If you wish to upgrade to Sibelius 7.5, then there is no need to download or install any of the lower versions of Sibelius.

After you have installed Sibelius 7.5, then for the Sibelius 7 Sounds library, you should install:
EITHER:
(a) the Sibelius 7.5 version of the Sibelius 7 Sounds sample library (available as an enormous download from Avid Store);
OR:
(b) *any* earlier version of the Sibelius 7 Sounds library, followed by the Sibelius 7.5 Sounds Updater.

Run the big Sibelius 7 Sounds installer. There are downloadable updates, seperate to the main program updates. Don't forget the Bass Clarinet patch.

Sibelius 7.5 came out over 6 months ago. Maybe the grace period free update is still available. I suggest you ask the Registration Support guys. Contact details are in the FAQ mentioned below.

Robin gives really good advice here..and dont forget after the Sib 7 Sounds library is either updated, or the 7.5 Sounds library installed, please install this bass clarinet patch:

Thank you gentlemen. I`m now experiencing that CDs and other DVDs also crash the `puter. I`m now thinking the fault maybe with the DVD/CD drive. I`ll be contacting my technician on Monday.
