Hello, I have just bought a new computer. How do I transfer Sibelius and all of my files to it from the old one? Many thanks

Simply COPY the files over to the new machine.

Install Sibelius and the Sounds onto the new computer, you are allowed two instances of Sibelius.

"Sibelius 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3: if you have bought a single educational or professional copy Sibelius, you are licensed to use a registered copy on two computers, provided each copy is used exclusively by you, and never simultaneously."

You can not copy the app over as the installer has to be run for Sibelius and Sounds to properly install.

If you don't want Sibelius on the initial computer, you can deactivate it from under the "Help" menu.

Thanks for this Richie. I have used a second copy on a laptop though which I hardly use. Will I be able to transfer my main computer copy to the new one? If so, how do I do that? Then how do I copy the files across? With a memory stick? Cheers

If it is simply the Sib Files use a memory stick, the files are not that large.
=====
The best way to set up a NEW computer/laptop is to use Migration Assistant, and when it asks you would you like to keep your settings say "Yes" and it transfers your email, browser, wireless settings over with all your files. (Make sure your have enuff disc space.)

http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14245

This could save you hours of setup time.

Push Shift/Cmmd + "U" to open the Utilities Folder (after clicking on your Desktop to make sure it reads "Finder" in the upper-left of your laptop screen, and double click on the Migration Assistant app.
=====
If you're laptop is already set up and there is a lot to move, use Target Disk Mode explained here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

About 1/2 down the page start reading from the heading:
To use FireWire target disk mode

Install Sibelius on the new computer, using the DVDs if you have them, or via download from your account on the Avid website. It is registering (and thereby using and saving your work) that is limited to two computers. You'll have to unregister Sibelius from one of the old computers before you can register Sibelius on your new computer.

As for the Sib files, a memory stick should do the trick.
