Two new plugins have been added to the Plugins download page for free download. Both require Sibelius 7, and can be installed with the plugin installer.

These plugins are dedicated to Philip Rothman, who had a need to adjust the stem lengths.

Adjust Stem Lengths
Category Notes and Rests

Adjust the stem lengths of selected notes by adding an offset (in units of spaces) to the current or default stem length of these notes. Unlike the Inspector, a positive value increases the stem length, and a negative value decreases it, regardless of stem direction.

Setting the default length to 0 will reset the length to the default length.

Stem lengths in Sibelius can be adjusted using the Inspector, using the Show Y field in the General pane. In the inspector the Dy is an offset in spaces from the center staff line, so a positive value will shorten notes whose stems point down, and lengthen those that point up.

This plugin can detect the stem direction, and so it adjusts the offset so that a positive value will always lengthen the stems, and a negative value will shorten them, so you do not need to be concerned about stem direction.

Though if you ever are concerned about stem direction, you can use the filter plugin below.

Category Filter and Find

Selects or deselects notes according to whether the note stem direction is up or down. It can also filter by voice.

I have not actually seen any problems with filtering Cross-staff beamed notes with this plugin, but the internal code that deals with reporting cross staff notes is known to be broken, so if you have these, check the results carefully.
