I haven't got the hang of playback in Sib 7 yet: what I miss from version 3 is the slider that allowed experimentation with metronome markings (as well as instantly adjustable proofreading tempi) and, most useful of all, the duration at the marked mm. Am I overlooking some new menu?

No, you are overlooking the transport panel (View->transport). Also, the status bar at the bottom of the screen shows bar number, beat number and duration (timecode) up to the selected note.If you drag up the top of the timeline, it will also show you position and also which instruments are playing at any given point (using a similar system of horizontal bars to most sequencers). A positive overload of positional information! :-)

Thanks! This does everything Sib3 did, but it doesn't hide itself when I'm not playing back...
