Sib. 7.5: Installing Sib 7.5 On A Second Computer

I have the 7.5 installation file that I used to install Sib 7.5 on my PC but when I use this to install onto my Laptop it does not work. Any help out there on installing Sib 7.5 onto my Laptop.

Please say what you mean by "It does not work". What happens, exactly, when you try? Copy all error messages verbatim.

Sorry Robin

I click on the Install Icon then a small white cursor wheel appears and keeps rotating for a while. Sometimes it will just disappear and sometimes a box will pop up saying that it will take me through the install process. It says it is downloading (I cannot remember the name) then when the box goes off nothing else happens.

Not enough detail. What exactly did you transfer from one PC to another? You should transfer the original zip file, as originally downloaded, and un-zip it on the second PC.

Can you re download the installer from your Avid account, and try using that?

And disable the anti-virus on the PC while you are running the installer.

If you are using USB sticks to transfer from one PC to another, remember to use "Safely remove..." before unplugging the USB stick that you have written onto.

It seems possible that there is something wrong with your second computer, if it cannot even install an application.

Maybe you should take your second computer to a computer help shop for them to check out.

I have had the Laptop checked and all is fine and I have installed programmes so its not the Laptop. The installer does come up and states that it is extracting the instaltionfiles.msi and it will guide me through the installation process. When the blue bar has gone across the screen twice the box disappears then nothing else happens.

Maybe the next dialogue panel is hiding behind another window: minimise all open windows until you can see all the way back to the desktop.

Also check out the icons on the taskbar, to see whether there is a Sibelius icon there.
