Sib. 6.x: parts
Posted by Joseph Virgilio - 19 Aug 04:27PM
Can anyone tell me why when I try to extract parts from a score not all of the staves are available to be extracted? Specifically, one brass quintet score only offers 3 parts for extraction another offers 4. I can't figure out why the balance of staves are not listed in the extract parts dialogue.

Thanks,
Joseph

Joseph,

You've probably inadvertently deleted a "dynamic part" in your Score.

Look at this thread and see if it helps:

(If this doesn't help, please attach a score.)

It's rare that I need to extract a part from the score, you may not have to do this.

I'm curious as to why, if I may ask?

Thanks Richie . . . a publisher has requested to view a particular part with a different instrument. Parts created now, thanks again. Joseph

In Sibelius 6, open the Parts window, click The New Part icon (see attached screen shot). If a full set of Dynamic Parts does not exist, you will be offered the option of correcting this.

I'm sure you are using the term "Extract" loosely? Except for very rare requirements, we now use Dynamic Parts.

Yes, I would just mail a PDF or print out a part.

Extraction is unnecessary.

Glad it worked out Joseph :-)
