I'm having a problem I've never had before. In an orchestral score notes in different instrumental lines suddenly blurt out louder than the surroundings (just for one note then back to normal). The effect moves from instrumental line to instrumental line so it sounds random. Quite distracting. Any ideas. I'm using Sibelius 7 Sounds Lite. Thanks, John

Pls try checking your settings for Espressivo, in the Play>Interpretation> Performance, and try setting a lesser one.

PS also wanted to mention--the algorithm thats been used for Espressivo, (and I dont know if its been addressed in Espressivo 2) contains, among other rules, a "the higher the note, the louder" rule..

and when there are jumps in range, some of those notes REALLY stand out quite harshly and sometimes need hidden dynamics to correct them.

Thanks for this thread! I have been going nuts trying to fix a harp score which sounds hideous because the top note of all the arpeggios stand out very loud and harsh. (Each arpeggio has an octave jump up/down). I have Sib 7, and have it set to Sib 7 sounds.

After reading this thread, I re-set it to Meccanico and that took care of the problem. (all of the other settings caused the "Ping.")

(I had already tried putting a dynamic on that one note, but it didn't make it any better.)
