Sib. 7.5: Note Performer playing
Posted by D.I.D. Choi - 15 Jul 12:55AM
Hello everyone out there.
I got NotePerformer today and I'm very pleased with most of it. One thing that I found strange was that notes that weren't slurred were articulated almost in a portato kind of way. Is there a way to make it more legato sounding? Thanks

Is there any way of getting legato as the default style in playback? I couldn't see any reference to t his in the online manual.

If you want legato with NotePerformer, you must notate it legato, i.e. with slurs."

Thank You Bob.
One other thing that sort of worries me on NotePerformer is that I feel like it goes out of tune at times. Is it just me?

You're welcome:)

I honestly dont know anything about NotePerformer going out of tune--

however I would address this and all your concerns to Arne Wallander at that support link, and Im sure he'll help--hes very nice and stands by his product.

Good luck with this:)

Thanks Bob

NotePerformer changes the tuning very slightly to give a more realistic effect. It's more noticeable in some scores. A far as I know, there's no way to change the amount of detuning NP does.

Oh dear. The old confusion between "human feel" and "randomly wrong". I hope this feature can be turned off?

I sincerely doubt Arne Wallander, who created NotePerformer confused the two..hopefully he'll also reply here.

Thanks Bob

Yes, in parts it sounds okay and "humanly" but it problematic when I have--for instance--a horn and a trumpet doubled and one of them play out while the other doesn't, or also when its just not the time to be going out..
