Sib. 7.5: New downloadable plugin: There It Is!

A new downloadable plugin,: There It Is!, is available for free download at http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/index.html?plugin=493, category Sight-impaired.

This is one of a group of plugins designed to provide sight-impaired users with access to Sibelius score objects. It will likely be useful to sighted users as well.

It displays a list of types of objects present in the current selection. If the selection is a system selection (purple box), the list will include system objects, such as Title text, Rehearsal Marks, and Special Barlines.

When an object type is chosen, another list is filled with the objects of that type present in the selection, with their staff, bar, and position in bar locations noted. Choosing OK will select the object, and bring the selected object on screen.

Objects can be displayed sorted by Bar (the default), so you can see all the objects in a single bar for all the staves, or you can sort the objects by Staff, so you can see the objects across all the bars in each staff.

A View button can be used to browse to objects without taking the dialog down. This would probably be useful only for sighted users.

This plugin is similar to the What Is Where? plugin, with navigation capabilities.

There is a Help button and an Options button.

Some objects tend to be slow to gather and display, so the Options dialog has options to skip such objects, or to ask if you want to display them. By default, the plugin asks to show staff text, and skips slurs, notes and rests, and bar rests.

You can use this like What Is Where to see what objects are in a range of selected bars, or use it as a Go To plugin, using the View button to browse among objects in different locations. If you select the entire score, it will function as a Go To Rehearsal Mark plugin, for example.

A screenshot of the main dialog is attached.

This plugin is dedicated to Kevin Gibbs and Gordon Kent, who have been working hard to make Sibelius more accessible to sight-impaired users.

Thanks, Bob
The Plug In is usefull finding text in scanned scores, that have become a wrong text-style - affecting playback - or not appearing in printing of parts.

Unless the source is a print of work prepared in Sibelius or Finale, in which cases I MIGHT get useful results, I've learned to turn off recognition of text completely in photoScore. Re-entering from scratch is invariably quicker than making corrections.

Nice plugin though, Bob!

Just wanted to mention that I have done an update to There It Is! to allow it to process non-passage selections, such as those produced by a filter.

This lets you filter some wide-spread objects, such a tuplets or dynamics, and then navigate among them from within the dialog, using the View button.

As before if there is no selection, the plugin will ask if you want to delete the entire score.
