I have an engraver whose arrow keys no longer work at all to move text or handles (like on the ends of slurs). He's on a Mac, OS 10.7, Sibelius 5.4. He was working on something yesterday that made all his preferences go wonky, and after he restored them, he found that his arrow keys were no longer working. We tried un-installing (trashing the program from Applications) and re-installing to no avail.

Is there a way to fix this without having to uninstall again, destroy all the scraps of Sibelius hidden in every crevice of his machine, and re-install?

And if we have to do that, where are these crevices and what must be destroyed so that I might get them all?

If you create a new user account on the Mac, is that new user then able to use Sibelius 5 normally?

If so, I expect the issue will lie within the .plist file for Sibelius 5 for the original user, where the user-specific preferences are held.
