Sib. 7.5: Setting playback position

This seems like a really silly thing to ask. In other programs it's easy to click at set the playback cursor anywhere I like, but I've yet to figure out how to do this in Sibelius.

Hi,

Pressing 'Y' is the keyboard shortcut for the 'Move Playback Line to Selection' command. which is located directly under the 'Play Arrow' button on the ribbon (expand the menu with the little down arrow directly under).

----

Additionally, If you select part of a measure, and then press 'P' (to invoke the 'Play from selection' option), Sibelius will start playback from that point... and will also throw in the bonus feature of only playing back music from the instruments which were included within the selection. this is both good and bad on occasion.

Also, pressing 'alt'/'opt' + Space will get Sibelius to Replay from the last starting point.

----

Bob Z. wrote a plug-in called 'Play it Again', which is well worth checking out if you're interested in looping playback for a specified number of times.

If you select just one single note on any staff and press P, ALL the staves will play from that point on.
If you select a section of a bar then only that staff will play.
If you select a section in several staves at once only those staves will play.
It's quite flexible and can be handy so, for example, you can have one trumpet play, or just the oboe and flute lines, or the whole band.

On Windows, its CTRL + spacebar to replay from last starting point. (alt + spacebar is a shortcut to the menu behind the little sibelius symbol in top left of sibelius window)
