....from Sibelius scores to mp3s and Windows start up audio logos. Have tried System restore (which doesn`t seem to want to restore anything any more) and full scan, and defrag, but no difference.
Ideas anyone? Thank you.

Win XP with newish bits/bytes inside a very old box (at least all the wires are out of sight). Sibelius 6.2 EWQLSO (when it works). GPO4. JaBB3. NotePerformer. Lives in Middlesex, (according to the Post Office!). Lives in Surrey (according to the County Boundaries legislature!!) - UK.

Exactly half speed? Sounds like the audio playback sample rate has been changed from the default 44.1KHz to 22.050 KHz somehow. Check your soundcard's settings. If necessary, reinstall or update its drivers and software.

Have you got up-to-date antivirus software running, Tony? This does not sound like a Sibelius problem if all sounds are playing slowly. Certainly check the sample rate - but you need to check what is happening in your Windows sound control panel.

A re-installation of M-Audio fixed it. Many thanks my friends. The sound card obviously affects all Windows audio in addition to Sibelius audio. We learn something new every day.
