Sib. 7.5: How to do this hand writing Lead sheet style
Posted by Thier Angers - 20 Apr 02:02PM (edited 20 Apr 02:03PM)
Check the image.

I find boxed text a little too much ink.

What I would want to do is like this image. This is how would do it if I wrote the sheet by hand.

Thanks

The Text Plugin 'Add Brackets to reprise Script' can do this for you.

good tip. Now would it be possible to have the same thing but to make it appear once in the score, but in every parts?

Just like a rehearsal mark?

thanks.

P.s. why is it only working with Reprise text?

Reprise Script is the only font which has the particularity to make the ` (accent grave) appear as a 0 width leftwards upper line. In a normal font, say Clarinet will look like this {C`l`a`r`i`n`e`t`}
With this knowledge you can make all kind of variations, including indications in System Text (like Tempo) which appear once in the Full Score and then in all Parts.

This looks really nice using a style similar to what Finale uses for Rehearsal Marks. (See "My Rehearsal Marks" screenshot.)

#1 - you set the System Text to: Reprise Rehearsal STD
Go to: Text tab > Styles (push the little SE facing arrow beneath the Styles icon and choose Rehearsal Marks in the column and then choose Edit.

#2 - Instructions for inserting "[" and "]" into Engraving Rules.

#3 - A screenshot of that process. Appearance tab > Engraving Rules (to the upper-left) is how yo get to this dialog box.

Though you probably already know this Thier :-)

When I do this as you have in your "Accordion" screenshot (as Wim describes), I usually put it in "Ideas" so I can easily paste to to all staves in a score at once.
