Hi all,
Im trying to change the default position of the instrument change object. (I mean the object itself, not interested of the text object). This is because my scores have a lot of instrument changes from one type of staff to another, e.g. from one-lined to five-lined, and I want the five-lined staff to appear a little bit before the barline so that the new clef sits on its correct stave.

Instrument changes is found in the list of objects that default positions can be assigned to but changing the horizontal position has no effect. (Changing the text style position works perfect, however.) Any idea why its not working?

Even if changing the Default Position did work, I think it's only about the text object. The actual Instrument Change seems to go wherever you click it in - on the barline if you click on a barline, in the gap before the next note if you click on a note. If you want it somewhere else drag the box. Turning View: Hidden Objects on is recommended.

The Default Position settings for the Instrument Change object is found under Other Objects. The same settings for the text object is under Text Styles. For my reason this means that a separate Default Position should be possible to set for the object itself.

When inserted with mouse or keyboard, or copied, the Instrument Change object seems to go just before next barline or note. But not just before a clef. I know that I can move it manually, but the thing is that if the Default Position settings would work as they should then I could set them so that I would not need to laborously adjust each of them. See the picture attached.

OK. Well, whatever the logic of it, it seems apparent that Sibelius doesn't do what you would like it to in this matter. You have my sympathy.
