Ive written to see if theres any official statement from Avid concerning using Sib 6.2 with Mavericks. Apart from registration issues, which Ive seen mentioned, and possible problems with Rewire, does anyone know of such a statement, or any other problems with this?

Hi Arfo--

At the moment Im using OS 10.7.5, and have Sib 6.2, 7.1.3 and 7.5-- they all run ok.

The most current information I was able to find are the following:

As for Mavericks, this article talks about the latest release which “includes a fix to the way caches are handled that resolves the sluggishness of Sibelius 7 and Sibelius First" and "The font display problem in the Ribbon and in dialog boxes remains unresolved for the moment, meaning that users will see a slightly smaller Helvetica font in these areas instead of the normal Lucida Grande. The display of the Sibelius document itself is unaffected."

Hi Arfo,

We've made several improvements to how Sibelius runs uses ReWire so you should find it a lot more reliable, including making sure it works on Mavericks.

When setting up Sibelius as a ReWire device in Pro Tools, say, you need to make sure you choose the Audio ins or outs (I can't remember which off hand) in the ReWire window that pops up. The host can then receive the audio that Sibelius is sending.

Although Sibelius 6 may run on Mavericks, we haven't qualified it. Out recommendation is to upgrade to Sibelius 7.5 if you're going to be relying on Sibelius on a Mac running Mavericks.

Probably I'll try sibelius 6.2 before upgrading, just for a test, then I'll decide...
