Sib. 7.1.3: How do I get a cymbal choke sound using JABB3 in 7.1.3? [SOLVED]

I would like to be able to get the playback sound to sound like a cymbal choke (for drums). How do I achieve this?

Errmm... this is for the Sibelius Sounds, which I don't have. Any other options? I also have Garritan JABB as my other sound source.

Ermm...based upon your title-Sib 7.1.3--and not seeing you say you didnt have Sib 7 Sounds, I assumed you did.

You have Sibelius 7, so you should have Sibelius 7 Sounds.

If we are to answer questions such as "how to get a cymbal choke sound", we need to know what sample libraries are in use.

I didn't install the Sibelius Sounds when I got the discs. Now the discs went missing and I'm unable to install the sounds unless I buy the replacement discs.

EDIT: I've found the solution! This applies to any Garritan JABB3 users out there.

1. By inserting "~N33,64" without the quote marks as a Technique, and placing this shortly after the cymbal note, I am finally able to get the desired cymbal choke sound. ~N33,64 corresponds to the midi note number A0 which triggers cymbal chokes in JABB3.

2. For JABB3 users, you will find that all the crash cymbals by default are very 'quiet' sounding. This is because the velocity is set to 80. If you increase the note's velocity using the Inspector to say, 120 -127, you will get a louder cymbal crash and therefore a more realistic cymbal choke.

I hope I've made sense.. I'm really glad that I've found a solution!
