I want to change the beams in an arrangement. (see enclosed score) I want the three 8ths in the pickup bar to be 1+2, not 3. The same with the 16th and the two 8ths in part 3 bar 12. Another question is that there is no name on the parts after the first system.

On 3rd Keypad is a button to separate/join beams.

What Richie said - there are several options to get what you want, and you can also use this to draw beams that encompass rests. For your second question, go to Appearance>Engraving Rules>Instruments. The top row gives you options for how names are displayed. You want the second box ("subsequently") with "short" selected, I suspect.
