Sib. 7.5: Chord Symbols: MI vs. mi and superscript vs. baseline
Posted by PabloWabblo - 11 Apr 02:24AM
Hi
I am trying to find a way to have major chords as MA and minor chords as MI at the baseline, not superscript. I can't find the option in the Engraving Rules panel.. I am trying to imitate the attached chord style.
Is there such an option? Having the MI at the same level as the 6 or 9 creates a MI9 and MI6 which in the Opus font looks like M16 and M19...
How do I go about this?

thanks

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

Take a look at. . . >Text (tab) >Chord Symbols. . . and expand the icon in the lower right hand corner to open up the 'Edit Chord Symbols Dialog'.

Once there (the attached screen shots outline the process), you just need to choose the appropriate chord symbol to edit, and then go into the 'Edit Suffix' button where you're able to override the default suffix, and choose one which is already positioned to sit on the baseline - it's lower in the menu so you have to scroll down to it to select it. . . or perhaps you'd prefer one of the other options.
