> I can't believe you lot! What do you expect to do if you are composing? If you are checking something in the music, you can easily do that in Panorama mode. If you are checking the layout while composing, I have to ask why? Get on with the composing and do the layout in one go afterwards!

Sorry to dig out this old thread. But what I have to say is that everyone has it's own workflow. Just like writing, someone would start to proof-read when finishing one paragraph, while someone would start proof-reading when they finished the whole essay. You cannot restrict everyone to follow the same workflow. After all, music composition is an artistic work, it's normal for each person to have its own style.
Recently, I am helping people to digitize some hand-written orchestral scores. To reduce to chance of making mistakes, I always start working with the layouts and the number of bars on each page to be as same as the hand-written scores. By doing so, you will immediately spot out the errors if you skipped one bar or put in a duplicated bar.
Under this circumstance, I don't want Sibelius to jump after filling out just one instrument. I want to fill in all instruments on one page and check all the errors before going to the next page.
So, it is nice to have an option for users to turn the page-jump function on or off. |
