Please let me reiterate:
I have been using Sibelius successfully for many years. My OS is Windows XP Professional. I obtained a boxed upgrade to Sibelius 7 (currently I am using version 6.2) while in the United States recently but was not able to download it to my PC for some reason. You gave me an address which permitted me to load a demo copy of Sibelius 7 and I loaded all the sounds from my Content DVDS. Now I have Silbelius 7 on my computer but it will disappear in less than 30 days unless I succeed in activating it. I need, apparently, a system ID and an activation ID whereas all I have is a blue card entitled Upgrade Eligibility Verification with a 26 digit Activation Code which I don't know what to do with.
Would you please advise me how to activate my Sibelius 7 (furnish me the requisite IDs I presume).
Thank you in advance for your early attention to this matter so that I may continue to be a fully satisfied user of this wonderful program.

This is an OPEN forum. 99% of the people here (including me) are Sibelius USERS, not staff. For security reasons, you should Edit your post (using the Edit button underneath it) to hide your Sibelius registration code - somebody here could essentially steal it.

Donald,

Please REMOVE your serial number from this forum immediately: I'm sure all the Sibelius pirates are enjoying using your number now.

To convert your old Sibelius serial number (which only works for versions of Sibelius prior to 7.1) to the new System ID and Activation ID which are required for Sibelius 7.1 onwards, go to the page:
http://www.sibelius.com/helpcenter/updates/sib7_1_3.html

Enter your old serial number together with the e-mail address that the old number was registered to. Then click the request button, even if you do not want the download. On the very next web page, your new System IDs and Activation IDs will be listed. Select them and type Ctrl-C to copy them into the clipboard, and then you should be able to paste them directly into Avid Licence Control.

Robin, the main reason I wasn't more blunt about the serial number issue is that you do actually need a valid serial number to sign up to this forum. Point reiterated, though!

But you don't need one to read it!

The original release of Sib 7 didn't run on Windows XP. The latest update does. The registration numbers system has changed. See the first section of the FAQ referenced below.

Donald,
The first thing you need to do is to follow the instructions that go with the blue card, this validates your elegibility for upgrade (i.e. that your old serial number can now be coupled with the latest sibelius 7 version). Once you have done that (and it only has to be done once) do as Robin has said to get the two new numbers that you need - make a note of them safely. You will also need then to download the full 7.1.3 installer as you are using X.P. (much quicker that installing and then updating).
Once installed install the sounds (assuming theat you have the disk space and then update the sounds to the latest version - that will give you access to the Lite version of the sounds which uses less RAM (but still needs the full sounds to be installed).
As all the others have said please edit your post to remove your serial number.
