I know I have been away a while (new baby now 8!!)
When I playback a melody the score enlarges. Is there any way I can switch it off so the size of the playback score is the same as when I am editing?

Check out Preferences -> Score Position and un-check "Use different zoom" (assuming Sib 4 is like later versions)
