I've figured out how to get my 7's and sus's on the baseline but how do I get my single alterations (b5, b9, etc) on the baseline?

You can adjust the appearance of individual chord suffixes via the Edit Chord Symbols dialog, which is accessed via the dialog launcher arrow in the bottom right-hand corner of the Text > Chord Symbols group.

Thanks Daniel; I did go to this window and that is, for example, how I was able to get the correct appearance of the "sus" suffix I wanted (lowercase, baseline), but I cannot seem to find the exact option I need for the b5 alteration.

You could try setting the 'Chord symbols' text style to 'Opus PlainChords Std' rather than 'Opus Chords Std'.

Opus PlainChords doesn't use superscript appearance for anything, so everything will always be on the baseline.
