Sib. 7.0: How to create a page with multiple songs (like a method book)
Posted by Musical Mentor - 01 Jun 05:16PM (edited 01 Jun 05:16PM)
I would love to know how to set up several exercises on one page, each with its own time signature, key signature and final bar line. All I have been able to figure out so far, is one continuous system, where I put in a return at the end of each line. It is not ideal, since Sibelius still considers it to be one long composition. If I try and add a time signature at the beginning of each line, it will automatically add it to the end of the previous line (to warn people that a "change" is coming).

Does anyone know how to set this up? I want to have a worksheet with about 6 - 10 one-line musical exercises to give to students. Any help you have would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Do Time Signature > Other to uncheck the announcement at the previous system. (Eventually re-enter the Time Signature and say No to rewrite.)
Same for Keysignature: check 'Hide' And yes, Sibelius considers it to be one continuous composition.

Also create a section break at the end of each exercise.

You can also mark the last bar of each section as a 'section end' in the inspector. This will reprint the full instrument name at the start of the next exercise if you wish and will pause playing for however many beats are selected in the playback performance dialog.

Great question @Music Mentor. One problem, I don't have the Time Signature > Other option to not announce or at least not when I press T to enter a new time signature. I tried the section break and section end ideas too, but I still have that pesky "C" (I'm good with 4/4 too if needed) being announced at the end of the previous section. I'm sure I'm just missing it. Thoughts?

BTW, I'm on 7.1.2 on Win7 x64.

Brian, as Wim has said above when you enter "T" uncheck the box that says "allow cautionary".
If you access the time singnature via the tab on notations click on the "more options" at the bottom of the box to bring up the old type window.
