Sib. 6.x: Problems with writing guitar fingering for the right and left hand

Hi all,

I have a few problems on this matter and I would like to ask for your help in solving them:

1. The right hand - when entering the fingering with: create > text > other staff > guitar fingering I get the fingering in capital letters (see the attached file) and not in the common letters for this type of fingering. How can I change that?

2. The left hand - how do i enter a second line of fingering as for writing fingering for a chord? in the attached file I tried to enter "3" for the low G note under the "0" for the B but it "jumped" aside.

3. The left hand - what is the common left hand fingering notation for a chord and how do I enter it with the Sibelius?

Hi Na'ama,
1. The inkpen2std font uses capital letters in smaller size for the common letters, so you must use another font for the guitar fingering.
2. Hit enter instead of the spacebar. But I would set each fingering separately if the notes are so far from each other.
3. Depends on the chord.

I strongly suggest you download and use the plugins Add Fingering To Notes and Add Circled Number Symbols To Notes.

James is right: this plugin is one more masterpiece of Bob Zawalich and saves you lots of time when writing guitar music.

I use Times New Roman 10.4 Italic for p i m a right hand fingering. There are other reasonable choices, too, but that's what you get with Create > Text > Other Staff Text > Guitar fingering (p i m a).

Again, doing this using the plugin Add Fingering To Notes is the ticket.
