Launch dates of Sibelius 6 and 7?

G'evening all, could some kind soul from Sibelius remind me of the launch dates of Sibelius 6 and 7, please? I tried searching the forum for messages but I couldn't find the old announcements.

Also, I'd really like to know, if it's possible to say at this early stagew, whether it is expected that Sibelius 8 (which I'm guessing will be quite some time away yet!) will be Windows XP SP3 compatible, as is the updated Sibelius 7?

Sibelius 6 was released in May 2009. Sibelius 7 was released in July 2011. You cannot infer the release date of Sibelius 8 from the release dates of Sibelius 6 and Sibelius 7. We cannot provide any indication of what system requirements might be for future, unreleased products.

You might want to look at the relevant section of the Wikipedia article:

While of course Sibelius never makes promises about when new versions will come out, it really does look like new versions come every two years.

It's hard to argue with the fact that Sibelius 7 was released to this schedule, despite not quite being ready.

It's only fair to add that the necessary revisions arrived quite speedily.
