I just installed Sib 7 and (at GREAT length) all the sounds.

I hear the orchestral bit when I launch. But within the program, no files (new or old) can play any sounds except with the awful sounding basic midi configuration. Any other configuration, the playback line moves, but there is no sound at all.

????

OK, SOLVED: the audio engine was wrong.

I had the same problem. Uner the PLAY tab, click the little down arrow at the MIXER. Click AUDIO ENGINE OPTIONS at the lower left. Select PRIMARY SOUND DRIVER (DS). It gave me audio but I don't like the wow, wow, wow sound.
