Sib. 7.1: Strange staccato playback
Posted by Paul - 16 Jan 03:48PM (edited 16 Jan 03:50PM)
This only seems to happen on the trumpets in recent scores. The stacc. dot randomly makes playback extremely quiet; on the attached example it may play back perfectly, but in my scores after a few minutes, any trumpets with the dot are all but inaudible. Help! I should add that closing the score and re-opening temporarily solves the problem.

Perhaps you should try removing "+staccato" from the Sound ID change box for the staccato articulation on the Articulations page of the Dictionary dialog.

If that doesn't help, I suggest you contact technical support directly for further assistance with this problem.

I'm having a similar problem with brass and woodwind instruments. Sometimes the high trumpet notes are wimpy, but several of the woodwind notes simply don't play back until I click on them, as if to remind the computer that the notes are there.

I've just had a similar problem but found a different cause. It was in a score I'd imported from Photoscore. There were some cues (several bars before my problem bars) which I'd left as PS had treated them;entered as grace notes. I changed them into proper notes (ie with a time value)and the random staccato playback disappeared.

Hope this helps
