Playback does not play past the repeat sign in the first ending. It plays the repeated phrase including the first ending over and over. The play cursor will not go past the first ending, not even manually.

For 1st X repeat lines choose the line with the hooked end. Your open-ended ones are what are causing the problem.

Still doesn't work. Hook or no hook. If I delete the first ending line the repeat works properly.

Oh yes it does! Though there are several of them to replace. There was one mis-positioned 2nd X bracket too. Don't forget the trick - select the notes in the bar(s), not the actual bars, before pressing L.

I am trying to fix a: does not play the second ending (first ending over and over!)
Tried all your suggestions: I got the right brackets, notes selected for each, replaced everything several times!

These problems are easily resolved.

1x-2x bars and all repeats do work in Sibelius and when they fail it is usually incorrect positioning or using the 1x line without a hook.

But, you could have a problem not seen before, so you need to post the score for someone to help.

big w do you have codas and dal segos in your score if so, go to play in the ribbon, then click repeats. uncheck play repeats after a D.S or D.c jump
