Today just arrived me the Sibelius 7 upgrade. I conviced me to buy it! :)
I noticed that the preferences window is too big for my screen resolution (1280x800) that I cannot see the Ok or the Cancel buttons (I have to press the Enter Key to validate, or the Esc key to cancel).
And I can't even resize it or move it in some way i can fit...
It depends whether the machine (a laptop, I guess) is a Lenovo brand. Lenovo have an auto-scroll feature which can move windows around so that a smaller display can reach all parts.

This is a known problem. The workaround at the moment is to use Return/Enter to OK the window, and Esc to cancel it. You should be able to see all the fields other than the buttons.

I'm pretty sure there's one preferences dialog where I *can't* see all the fields on my MBP, but I can't remember which one it is (I've only "really" used 7 on my Mac Pro so far). If I happen to remember which one it was, I'll say so.

Found it. In the Font Equivalents preferences window on my MacBook Pro, the checkbox and text for "Automatically switch font to match chosen input source (in the input menu)" is totally off the bottom of the screen at 1280 x 800. I wouldn't even know it was there if I hadn't seen it on my Mac Pro's monitor.

768 pixels of vertical resolution for PC displays was first introduced in 1990. It's time to move on: software cannot be constrained for ever by the limitations of under-specified hardware. A high-capability product like Sibelius deserves to be run on appropriate hardware.

its a preferences window where the developer forgot for whatever reason to put a scroll bar, thats all !!!
you keep bullying each and every one that complains about this problem.
dont understand your reasons
Adding a scrollbar to the Preferences dialog wouldn't be a simple job. We will do our best to minimise the vertical space required by the dialog, but we can't guarantee that 768 pixels will always be enough.
On my Samsung computer Fn + Shift + Right-arrow changes to a bigger virtual screen where moving the cursor to top or bottom scrolls the display to reveal the rest of the Preferences window.
The reverse with Left-arrow restores the original screen.
Probably there is a similar option on your computer.
Sibelius is useless on my macbook air for printing pdf as that is off the bottom of the print dialogue box. Cant believe that such a good program as sib should have such a stupid fault.
I have to keep my previous macbook pro just to print to pdf.
i have the same problem. i cannot understand why the print dialogue box cannot be made smaller there is plenty of space. it is ridiculous that such an expensive and good programme is mucked up because of a stupid thing like that and I am disappointed that it hasn't been sorted.
Actually it can scroll, it just can't resize, minimise or expand- the three little buttons in the left hand corner? Isn't that the most basic thing a developer has to add??
Hi, since there's no year on this thread, I don't know if this is a hardcore necro, but I'm having the same problem with the Text Styles pane on my 2015 MBP (and have been since getting Sibelius. See screenshot. I can drag the dialog around the dock, but it's a bit of a pain, and those with a wider dock would have no solution.

There was no attached screen-shot. To which "Text Styles" pane are you referring? What is the pixel resolution of the display? I don't understand what you mean by "dragging the dialog around the dock". Can you explain?
I have no such problems with my 2015 MBP.
On this forum, attachments must be less than 1 MByte in size, and of types .sib or .png only. Screen-shots should be in type .png (not .jpg or .tif).

FWIW, this thread originated in 2011. If you go to a post and click on the "Reply" button below the post it will show the full date. Janet's post came in 2014, and Toby's in 2016.
It would be a better world if the full date were used in this forum. I have included the year in my signature since 2009 so that at least my posts would indicate a year. How hard is it to include a year in a date? Or to get the search to include the current year? Mumble, mumble...
