Turn it on in the View tab. Be grateful it's ALL still available. If it had been treated like the Properties window (now the Inspector) it would have included only functions not available on the Ribbon. Double click on the tempo marking where it shows "quarter note = 100" and a cursor appears, use the backspace to remove the number and type in a new one, click anywhere on the page or in a blank space off the page and you will see the tempo marking in the transport bar change, this will now affect all export or save choices.-easy! Here's what I'm doing: 1) selecting the menu item Create -> Text -> Tempo, (or using Mac shortcut key sequence, option-cmd-T) 2) Then clicking above the bar, at the top of the score where I want the tempo marking to go, ==> then I see a blinking cursor 3) Bring up the contextual menu (on a Mac, that's a control click) and scroll down to the quarter not symbol in the menu, then release ==> then I see a quarter note symbol in the score 4) typing a space, then an equal sign, then another space, then the tempo number desired,then hitting return THE PROBLEM: when I playback, these newly entered tempos are ignored - and the tempo in the Playback window is the one is adhered to. I've got proper tempo marks in a score, but the transport panel slider is the only thing that's affecting the playback. As far as I can tell there are no hidden tempo markings or anything. I don't care about visuals on this score, since the purpose is to export audio files for the SATB parts. So I need the tempos to play back properly. Daniel, or someone, can you help? I discovered something a little odd - Sib. would recognize the first marking in a score, but not subsequent ones. But then I realized I had input the subsequent ones using Ctrl-T, not Ctrl-Alt-T or the right-click method. Therefore Sib. was treating it as a Technique, not a Tempo, and thus would display it but not play it back properly. For whatever reason I thought the shortcut was Ctrl-T. Not sure if this would solve others' problems, but I was experiencing the exact same thing, and it was my own fault. (I'm also not sure this would be detectable in an existing score, for troubleshooting/uploading, I mean...) Hopefully others can learn from my mistake. It's hidden under the square purple Panels button, where there is a check-box to select Transport. What is nice is that you can type "transport" in the search bar and that control appears. I'm a software engineer, and thought the same thing about that control not appearing under the Play tab. The Play ribbon already has a full set of buttons, so that may have been shifted to View due to screen real estate. But it doesn’t sound right at all. The Transport tempo slider won’t let me type in 13/2, 201. It only lets me slide up to 176 BPM with the ½ note getting the pulse. Is there another way to make the Transport tempo slider work for me, so that I can go back and forth from Sibelius and Pro Tools with the same click seamless track feel? That's what the TS does. Setting BPM as q=201 will make the actual tempo h=100.5. The tempo slider was only ever intended as a quick and dirty auditioning device. It should not be used for determining playback tempo. Try using q=402 as a tempo mark. Tempo box? Set it to the middle (I think a double click will do it) so that the transport panel displays the actual BPM in the tempo instruction. I cannot tell what type of text you have used for your tempo mark, but it must be a system text style - there are two text styles that were intended for tempo setting - Tempo text style and Metronome Mark (MM) text style. Other system types will also work (Boxed system text, for example) Staff text styles will NOT work (eg Lyricist). The transport display does not display the fractional beat, but it is showing the half note pulse. Your protools image shows quarter=201 your sibelius screenshot shows half=100. The score has several instances of an "accel" line which is extended and overlaps with the next metronome mark, thereby overriding the metronome mark with the final value of the "accel" (which has not been configured, either). When using the Transport panel to monitor tempos, make sure that the temporary tempo adjustment control is at its centre position.
