I have a strange problem with my upgrade to Sib 6.2 - In several scores, pressing P for "playback from selection" does not work and instead playback jumps to the beginning of the score. Using the drop down menu command or the playback window button is no different. The note or even the whole bar is selected in blue but the playback line is somewhere else in the score. The selected note sounds when clicked but will not start playback. The "move playback to selection" shortcut - Y, also does not work. Needless to say this is very frustrating behavior.

I still have Sib 4.0 installed. Could that be the cause of the problem?

Hi there

Does playback ever get to the bars/notes in question? (One way to check this is to see if your bar numbers suddenly cease somewhere.)

If so, then this is a problem with your repeat structure: Sibelius can't work out what order to play things in, or gets confused.

If you want help fixing this sort of thing, it's best if you can post a score that has the problem.

[Edit: Oh, and the presence of Sib4 is not the problem. They can coexist quite happily.]

playback line not starting from selected bar. I have already tried the start from selected under playback options. also , of course, I am using P for playback. I noticed that the bug has to do with the repetition bar. Noticed if you either delete the repeat barline at end of 2nd line ending, it solves the problem of playing back from any other back other than the first.

On the contrary if end barline repeat of 2nd ending is, checked in Playback inspector, the only place where the playback can start is bar#1.

very frustrating.

OK, your repeat structure is broken.

Where does the end repeat at the end of the 1st line go? At the moment Sib has overlapping (nested) repeats which confuse it. You also don't have a continuation (2nd time) barline at bar 25.

I have to say, though, that playback starts any place I choose when I press P.
