Hello-

I'm running Mac 6.2 and the default on guitar chord symbols uses the chord/scale diagrams on top of the chord symbols and I don't
know how to eliminate them.

I looked in Engraving Rules and couldn't find a way to bypass them.

Also, when I try a chord symbol with certain extensions, the chord symbol remains plain text and doesn't convert to Inkpen 2, my choice in Text Styles.
How can I guarantee that all extension chord symbols will come out with the Inkpen 2 font?

any help much appreciated,

See Chord Symbols in Engraving Rules (see screenshot) for eliminating
the diagrams. This change only affects the current score, though. You need to export a house style and import it into Manuscript papers to really get rid of it.

I have no answer to the 2nd question.

Thanks Bob. Found the radio button to get rid of the chord diagrams.
If you happen to know anyone who might have some insights into the other issue with notating certain extensions, that would be great. Appreciate your help very much.

My guess is that you are using extensions that Sibelius does not recognize. What that happens, Sibelius displays the text in red and does not format the text.

What specific extensions are you trying to use? For unsupported symbols, you can create Legacy Chord Symbols, which are text objects of Chord Symbol text style. Check the reference for details.

You should be able to go under engraving rules and select the Chord Symbol and the select "Edit Text Style" button in the top right corner. Here, you can manually select what ever text you want for the chords.
