When I try to register my friends Sibelius 6 for his Windows 7 laptop I get the following error:

There was a problem contacting Sibelius on the Internet. Please check your Internet connection and try again, or register using the Internet connection on another computer instead.

My internet connection is working just fine, so what this registration program is actually trying to do and what can I do to solve this. There is no firewall etc active currently on this laptop and still the same problem.

If you're trying to register your friend's copy on your own computer, don't do it by installing Sibelius and choosing Help > Register Sibelius. Instead, choose Help > Register Sibelius on your friend's computer, then choose 'Using a web browser on this or another computer' and click Next. Then, using your computer, go to http://www.sibelius.com/register to provide your serial number and Computer Number in the form there.

Hi,

Thanks for quick response.

However I am trying to register my friends copy to his laptop. I have a personal copy on my own computer and it is working fine. I could try the web registration too, but with my own copy it caused problems which if I'm not mistaken you helped correcting. So I would like to get this friends computer set up and registered correctly before I am giving it for him to use on Sunday.

Hope there is a way to solve the problem with online registration.

If you can visit www.sibelius.com in the browser on his computer, then you can use the 'Using a web browser on this or another computer' method on his computer without any problems.
