Sib. 6.1: bend intonation
Posted by georgiateleman - 19 Dec 07:14PM
I'm suffering through some bad intonation on playback of guitar bends. I am using a grace note to do a pre bend. The pitch starts at the intended whole step higher-and then bends more sounding sharp. I'm wanting it to start under the pitch and go up to pitch-Any solution to the problem? I've attached an example.

So you want the pitch bend to play very quickly from the F# to the G#, rather than affecting the G# at all? There are no options to determine the duration of bend playback, and obviously the grace note is very quick in this context.

I'm not worried about the time the bend takes. It's the pitch that is the problem. Instead of starting under the pitch and bending up to the pitch-the bend starts on the pitch I am intending to bend to- and then bends further making the note sharp. In other words the bend overshoots because it is starting on the note it should be arriving at and goes further. This makes for an pretty bad playback experience where all grace note bends sound sharp. Again-the speed of the bend is not the problem-the pitch is.

Can you clarify on which pitch you expect the bend to start, and which you expect it to finish?

In the example I attached the note should bend starting on a F sharp and finish at G sharp. When it plays back however it starts on the G sharp and goes higher.

Yes, I think this is because the bend actually plays back on the main note, not the grace note. This is on our list of things to improve in future versions.
