I am reinstalling Sib 4 on my new iMac. I have long since lost the cd sleeve that contained my serial number and am wondering the most effective to retrieve that.

If you are still installed, you can find it at >help>about.

This is a common location for a serial number in most commercially available software.

>help>about is the same location where you must unregister from your old computer in order to register on your new computer.

If you can't do this, then you should call tech support at one of the phone numbers at the bottom of one of Daniel's posts and be very, very nice to them when you ask for help.

What you must do when you talk to the tech support person is convince him/her that you really do own this 2-version-old copy of the software and that you have not just gotten hold of a bootleg copy from the original purchaser who has upgraded and discarded the old disk. As you are aware, Sibelius is not transferable from one person to another.

You should refer to Daniel's instructions to you in your June, 2006, thread about this same problem with Sibelius-4.

I imagine that's not usually a big deal (although I've never had to do it). Sibelius surely have some record of you purchasing the software and using the serial number in the past. Also, it is impossible to post to the chat page without a serial number.
