Sib6 is completely mute, and in the audio engine options I have no audio interfaces available to choose from. Where did they go? Is this my problem or Sibelius'? Are there preferences I can dump somewhere? Sib 5 is still working perfectly. Do you have a sequencer that you've been using? It's possible that Sibelius may have started up in ReWire mode but now the connection has been lost. I don't get an error though but there are NO devices in "PLAY>PLAYBACK_DEVICES>AUDIO_ENGINE". I have sound but just the awful windows midi sounds and NONE of all my great samplers like EWQL, GPO4 and so on. All the options in the "PLAY>PLAYBACK_DEVICES>AUDIO_ENGINE" are gray as if there weren't drivers in the computer. All my other music programs work well. Back to top | All threads

I had it at the weekend, and tried the fix disabling Plogue Engine - it kept moaning about no Plogue Engine, and still no sound. I deleted rewire but no improvement. I tried a re-install of Sibelius 6.2 (which took me an hour and a half) and sound was restored! But 2 days later the same message and no sound. I've tried moving Plogue Engine to a new folder (rather than deleting it) and I've had to put it back as that didn't solve the problem either. As a Marxist, I assume this is Avid's attempt to bully me into buying Sibelius 8 - unless you can persuade me otherwise. Back to top | All threads

If you wish to use Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth as a player device, then choose an output interface to your chosen physical output device which is not an ASIO interface (for instance, choose (DS)). If you wish to use an ASIO output interface, then choose a player device other than Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. You should, for instance, be using Sibelius Player with the Sibelius Essentials sample library. Cancel all that: your issue is a little more complicated. The PlogueEngine folder goes into Users>[myname]>AppData>Roaming>Sibelius Software>Sibelius6, which is where the installer put it. Could this be impacting me? The only audio configuration I have is General Midi, with the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth as the only available/active device. This usually wouldn't bother me greatly, but because of COVID, I need to be able to create decent sounding demos for the orchestra that I direct (now virtually), and of course, I'd like the product I've paid for to have full functionality.
