I installed some days ago, Windows 7 RC (64-bit) as a dual boot on my PC. As anyone already some experience with installing Sibelius 5.2.(5) under windows 7 RC ??

Sibelius 5 is not officially supported under Windows 7, but we have tried it running under a few different builds, and it does appear to work fine.

I am having the same problem with the 32-bit version of Windows 7, Sibelius doesn't do anything when I try to open it.

Apparently Sibelius 5.2.5 seems to work fine under Windows 7 RC1 (64-bit) on my dual boot system (also XP). I got it 1 time 'hanging' for a while but I could continue to work after about 1 minute without loss of data ...

I believe there is a problem with the portaudio DLL used by Sibelius's audio engine that can cause it to hang on some builds of Windows 7. When Windows 7 is officially released we will have more to say about that.

Sib 5 will not install on my second-partition Windows 7 RC. I get "The serial number of this copy of Sibelius is invalid. Reinstall Sibelius". Sib still runs fine, still registered, in the Vista partition. Any ideas Daniel? I did get my M-Audio Firewire Audiophile running though, using the XP Beta driver--many thanks.

It sounds like you may have entered the serial number wrongly. Try deleting the SerialNumber entry in the Registry from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sibelius Software\Sibelius 5 and run the program again.

I had the same problem when installing on Windows 7, but have fixed it by replacing the portaudio DLL in the Sibelius 5 folder with the one available here: http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/search.pl?com=search&words=A549&language=1
