Problems installing old Oxygen 8 kbd on my laptop. Vista can't find driver on installation CDs; tried downloading driver from M-Audio website but Vista doesn't seem to like that either. Also Sibelius "Find New Input Devices" in File/Preferences/Input Devices can't find a driver anywhere. What folder do I need to download the driver?

Download drivers to a know place. Remove keyboard. Install drivers reboot. On reboot plug in keyboard wait until Vista recognizes hardware and installs.

Thanks, Henri -- I tried all this, ran it from the desktop, but Vista still can't find it. Think I'll have to call M-Audio. I had problems installing it on my regular computer too, but it's been too long to remember what I had to do. I see now that their website lists Vista-32 as well as XP now (same driver I think, but they updated their list) so there's some progress, at least from their end. Problem is I don't think it's a current product. Wish Sib 5.1 included some drivers!

You should find that simply double-clicking the file you downloaded from
M-Audio's web site installs the necessary drivers, if you follow the
on-screen instructions.

Ah, if that only worked! I had "installed" the driver per on-screen instructions, it it said it had been successfully installed, but Vista never found it. I did this perhaps five times. (And the installation program would only Uninstall the program every other time, too, so it had found it). When you plug in the keyboard Vista notices that but can't find the driver. It's looked in the Desktop, and all over the C drive to no avail.

In Sib 5.1, hitting "Find New Input Devices" in File/Preferences/Input Devices you see the keypress but nothing happens. On my desktop computer they key (which has rounded corners -- different graphics than the laptop) turns light blue when you hit it and it stays that way. With my laptop you see the keypress (squared-off corners on the key on this computer) but it doesn't look like it stays pressed. Even searching 20 minutes with this screen produces nothing.

It does sound as if the drivers are not correctly installed, Wayne. A
call to M-Audio's tech support team would probably be a good plan at
this point.

My mistake, Daniel! After some research I found that I had upgraded to Vista-64 on the laptop. No wonder! No drivers available for that as yet. Darn. Updated my profile so hopefully I won't make that mistake again.
