Sib. 7.5: Moving from one computer to another.
Posted by John P - 11 May 04:18PM
Hi,
I have been using Sibelius 7.5 successfully for many years. I have previously deactivated and moved it to a desktop successfully. I have now tried to move it to from my desktop to a new desktop. I deactivated the original, downloaded the software and followed the prescribed process and obtained a bin file for the new computer.
However there was no response to allow me to enter the bin and when I eventually ran the activation manager it refused it and gave me a seat count failed on the ID. Any further effort on the new computer just now tells me it is an invalid system id. I understand that the seat count may need to be reset? How do I get that done?
The programme runs on both computers but of course will not save. I have returned to the previously used desktop and tried to reactivate it but keep getting the seat count failed message. Despite trying the webchat bot, I cannot get a resolution. I am not really a techie, but use the programme regularly and would really do with some help in restoring it, preferably on my new desk top, but, at the moment I will settle for the old one back!
Many thanks
John

To reset the seat count, open an online case with Avid Account Support
https://avidtech.my.site.com/avidsupportcenter/s/account-support-page

Keep going with the web forms until you get given a Case Number.
Once you have a Case Number, the case is open, and support staff will contact you.
