Sam has had to unexpectedly take some time off today, but he drafted the announcement below for you all earlier this week. I hope you enjoy the new update! Let me know if you have any questions. Joe Hi All, I'm pleased to let you know that we are today releasing Sibelius 8.4.2 for all Sibelius users with active subscriptions and upgrade plans. The updated installers are now available from Avid Application Manager. We'll be updating everyone's Avid Accounts with the new downloads very shortly too. The update is recommended for all Sibelius 8 customers and includes the following improvements: * A problem where hidden text was shown when printing or exporting to PDF has been fixed * The spacing between clefs, key signatures, time signatures and start repeat lines has been improved * Sibelius no longer crashes when clicking on 'Detailed View' in the Ideas panel * Sibelius no longer crashes when exiting from viewing a video in full screen mode (macOS Sierra only) * The staff size is now shown in Edit Instruments > Edit Staff Type * The top crashing issue from Sibelius 8.4 has also been addressed In addition to this, we have made improvements to the sizes of Ossia Staves. Since Sibelius 8.4, we introduced the ability to have two further staff sizes (Medium and X-Small). The sizes of Ossia staves from 8.4.2 are now two smaller than the size of the parent stave where possible, for example: Normal parent -> Small ossia Medium parent -> X-Small ossia Small parent -> X-Small ossia X-small parent -> X-small ossia Sibelius 8.4.2 also comes with the latest version of Avid Application Manager, version 2.5.8, which now includes a silent install option, providing a much smoother and more streamlined update experience. Work on Sibelius 8.5, our iOS app and improvements to Sibelius Cloud Publishing continue, and we're looking forward to sharing more about those projects in due course. Sam Back to top | All threads

I quit it and restarted and it's fine. Do I also start AvidAppManHelper app? The vs. for the AppMan on the Application Manager is 2.5.6.12065. Is that the one I want? I ask because the Sibelius vs on App Man is 8.4.1.111 and on my Avid Master Account page it is 8.4.1. installer. I don't see 8.4.2 available anywhere? I see that the problem of selecting a double barline and rehearsal mark totether and then alt clicking to copy it keeps the barline and RM together again, which is also a good thing. Also with inspector pinned. It's really hard to see which boxes are checked. This will be fixed when we release a version of Sibelius based on Qt5. Currently Sibelius is built on Qt4. Huh - I would have sworn I had gotten that to work, but trying it now it fails, both with alt-click and pasting from the clipboard. Now the installer shows and it also being verified, but nothing happens.It hangs. The screen stays on ''verifying install Sibelius''. At the moment I cannot install the update. I tried double clicking again on the disc image and the ''verifying'' procedure started. After five minutes the Sibelius install app appeared. I double clicked on this and at first nothing happens.
